Tuesday's With Corey (Episode 6)
2009-12-01

This weekly feature ‘Tuesdays with Corey’ is inspired by a book called ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’, written by the famous author Mitch Albom. In this motivational true story, Mitch reflects with his old university professor, Morey, about life lessons and how to live your life to the fullest.
This is Coach Crocker’s favourite book. Every Tuesday, Corey will give Rambler fans his personal thoughts of the past games and other related topics. He will also post his favourite weekly motivational quote and a tip for all young hockey players to use in practice. Enjoy!!!
Episode 6– Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009
Hello Fans,
I hope you enjoy this feature ‘Tuesdays with Corey’. I am really excited to do this weekly feature and thanks for supporting our team.
Wow.....Christmas is just around the corner. Hope everyone is excited for Santa Clause to come. There is no question that last week was one of my busiest weeks in hockey. I watched a lot of hockey between the United States and Canada. I arrived back home at 5:00pm on Saturday just in time to head to the rink to battle the Dieppe Cammandos.
On Thursday night as many know I was not in attendance for the game versus the Lions but what I can gather from the coaching staff the Lions deserved the win. A direct quote from another coaching staff member was, “we were just not good enough”. I can’t really comment I something I didn’t see but the only thing we can do is stay motivated to become better.
Saturday was an important game for us to win and we did just that. Our PP was clicking scoring three times while being up a man. Jon Waye was solid between the pipes earning the win and again showing he is an elite goaltender in this league. The guys showed a lot of poise against a hard working Dieppe team. Wins are hard to come by these days for the purple and white so we enjoyed it for 20 minutes and shifted our focus towards a divisional opponent that we had to meet in less than 24 hours.
At 10:30am we loaded the bus and started our track for Yarmouth. Three hours into the trip we stopped in New Minus for our pre game meal. After a great meal we continued our trip to Yarmouth. The boys were feeling really good about tonight’s game at the same time hoping to move closer to the top of the standings. I felt in the Yarmouth game the rink was tilted in our favour for most of the night but Mariners goaltender Collier stoned us again for the second straight time. This goalie can play!!! In the last two periods they only fired 8 shots to our 21. Although our goalie Devon Cudmore was very good also the boys could not solve Collier.
We played well enough to win this game but never. Bottom line is we got 2 points out of a possible 6 this week. We are not going to hide behind the fact that we are struggling right now but we are also not going quit. We have to be determined to play better, work harder and smarter so we can be firing guns at the right time of the season.
Today Dec. 1, 2009 Hockey Canada requires all Junior A hockey teams to have their rosters set at 25. Right now the Ramblers have 21 players signed to a Junior A card which means we have lots of room to pick up and drop players is the situations presents itself. As a hockey team we are always looking to make our team better.
‘QUOTE OF THE WEEK’
